ZH-RainSim is a standalone desktop tool for generating future rainfall ensembles from Global Climate Models (GCMs). It utilizes a Markov Chain occurrence model coupled with a Gamma distribution for intensity to downscale and simulate daily rainfall series. A licence agreement protects the application. It may be used free of charge, with due acknowledgement to the model’s developer, for academic research purposes. For use within a research project, a licence is required. ZH-RainSim cannot be used for any commercial purposes.
Key Features:
- Automated Downscaling: Uses observational data to correct GCM biases.
- Ensemble Generation: Generates up to 500 stochastic rainfall scenarios.
- Visual Analysis: Instantly plots histograms, monthly trends, and annual totals.
- Data Export: Saves all generated ensembles to .csv for further analysis.
